Public International Law

Restrictions: First Year Elective - Registrar's Office sends information about 1L elective registration in October. Spring semester registration for 1L electives begins in November. This course covers basic concepts in public international law. Topics include the creation of international norms; states and other international participants in the international system; international institutions; dispute resolution; the use of force and international law in domestic systems with an emphasis on American Law. It will also encompass first year subjects from an international perspective, such as international criminal law and international rules governing cross border commercial transactions.
