International Trade and Invest

Globalization, free trade, trade agreements (such as the Trans Pacific Partnership and NAFTA), unfair trade, outsourcing, currency manipulation, and immigration - are currently at the center of political discourse. Apprehensions about these concepts have fueled presidential candidacies, led to the exit of Great Britain from the European Union, and are shaping and influencing political dicourse. International Trade & Investment is a problem- oriented course that will explore the concepts and mechanisms governing the international trade system. It conveys the background and understanding necessary to analyze and assess concepts that are profoundly affecting the current international political economy. It is a very useful course for students interested in a career in international law, whether public international law or international business law as the topic straddles both arenas. International Trade and Investment imparts the necessary understanding to assist in formulating trade policy at the national and international level.
