Criminal Procedure: Invest

Restrictions: Section 01A: 1L Elective - Registrar's Office sends information about 1L elective registration in October. Spring semester registration for 1L electives begins in November. Section 01B: 2L and 3L Elective - Students taking Criminal Procedure in the 1L Year may not take the 01B Section as a 2L or 3L student. Students will consider the constitutional rights of the accused including limitations on search and seizure, confessions, and identification. In this course we will consider the essential constitutional rights of a defendant in a criminal prosecution including the right to counsel at all critical stages of the prosecution, the right not to be compelled to self-incriminate, and the right to have evidence illegally seized from the defendant excluded from the trial.
