Trial Advocacy - Competition

Restrictions: 2L ONLY Course Note: Students must enroll in Fall and Spring semesters individually to receive full credit. (LAW 7106) Trial Advocacy - Competition is a year-long course worth 2 credits: Students earn 0 credits in the Fall semester and 2 credits in the Spring semester. Students must participate in both semesters to receive credit. Students will prepare for and represent VLS as members of the mock trial team in one or more external trial competitions. Students will explore questions of trial strategy, developing a theory of the case, and reflecting that theory in all aspects of the trial, while further developing the skills introduced in Trial Practice. Instructor approval required for enrollment: Students will be enrolled in the course after try-outs held in the beginning of the Fall semester. The course will begin meeting in September, immediately following team selection, and continue through trial competitions in the Spring semester. Registrar's Office will receive list of accepted students and send details for enrollment before the first class meeting. Exam Info: No Exam
